1 LIFETIME COMMUNITY
Week 1: The Audition
Here’s your invitation to put yourself out there. This week is about taking that first scary step towards that big dream of yours. Together we’ll tackle facing your fears, coming out of your shell, getting ready, and going for it.
Week 2: Casting Your Ensemble
Theatre is a collaborative art, and so is life. We’ll focus on the people you want to surround yourself with, and the essential personalities for supporting you.
Week 3: The Musical Score
If “life plan” sounds as overwhelming to you as it does to me, how about “life soundtrack” instead? We study the tried-and-true story structure of a musical, from the “I Want Song” to the “Encore”, inviting you to build your own soundtrack of songs that resonate.
Week 4: The Rehearsal Process
Once you’re clear on your vision, it’s time to put in those rehearsal hours and get to work. This week is about hustling with discipline and grace, and implementing that well-used mantra: practice practice practice!
Week 5: Intermission
Let’s pause to discuss what has happened so far in a week designated for rest, reflection, and rejuvenation. Let’s meet at the barfor an in-depth group chat on what’s happened so far in Act I.
Week 6: Becoming a Character
Sometimes the best way to understand ourselves is to see the self in the context of someone else. This week we explore how to embody a character, and how learning through others can help us gain clarity of ourselves.
Week 7: Getting into Costume
Week 8: Opening Night
Your director: Xandra Robinson-Burns

- Is there an age limit for joining Leading Lady?
Nope! This course is a culmination of what I have learned from a lifetime of theatre, from my first role as dancer/townsperson at age 7 to my master’s degree in Theatre and Performance Studies last year. These are lessons I wish someone had taught me in high school that it’s not too late to be reminded of after college.
