Be the star of your own show:
a theatre-inspired online summer camp
for finding your corner of the sky.
CASTING CALL FOR ASPIRING LEADING LADIES
to hustle with the discipline of a Broadway diva
to the tune of your own personal life soundtrack
so you can take centre stage with confidence and finesse!
Leading Lady is a virtual summer camp, guiding you
through your goals, giving you definition on how to present yourself to the world.
At Leading Lady, your life is a musical, and you are the star.
I’ll be your director, and your classmates are your ensemble.
ACT I: PRESENTATION
ACT II: EMPOWERMENT
Are you ready to take centre stage
in your life and work?
Indulging in a Broadway show isn’t about escaping your world. It’s about expanding it.
Let the world hear YOUR song.
Leading Lady is a live, interactive experience,
and just like the theatre, it’s different every time.
Who is this programme for?
Leading Lady is for you if…
you are waiting in the wings for just a bit more confidence to arrive.
you are coasting through life when you’d rather be dancing through life.
you know you are capable of extraordinary things, but aren’t quite sure what they are yet.
you are READY to take action! All you need is a director to guide you.

You will leave summer camp with:
A Cohesive Social Media Presence
Use the internet to your advantage. We’ll tailor your digital presence to reflect your in-person presence.
A Personalised Casting Call
They say you’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with, so let’s get really specific on identifying who those people are for you. No more aimless networking. Put on your casting director hat and connect with the cast & crew who will make your life magnificent.
A Life Soundtrack
If ‘life plan’ sounds as overwhelming to you as it does to me, how about ‘life soundtrack’ instead? Through the tried-and-true story structure of a musical, from the ‘I Want Song’ to the ‘Encore’, you will build your own soundtrack of songs to get you through any situation.
A Cast Bio
If the world is a stage, what is your part? Have you ever faltered at the dreaded question “what do you do?” We’ll get clear on that answer for you with a Playbill-worthy bio.
Camera shy? I’ll give you a crash course in looking your best in that LinkedIn profile picture you keep meaning to update.
An Opening Night “Performance”
What is theatre camp without a talent show? From start to finish, you’ll put on a show of your own variety. Now is the time to work on that little-but-fierce passion project you intend to get to “one day”.
Your director: Xandra Robinson-Burns
Xandra spent her school vacations at theatre and opera camps, and wanted to do something with that training even if she isn’t a Broadway star.
She is an award-winning student theatre critic, served as Editor of the Oxford Theatre Review, and holds a master’s degree in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Edinburgh, where she was also a TEDx speaker.
Xandra has seen 50 musicals, 24 Shakespeare plays, and Sleep No More three times.
Notable roles include Wilbur in Charlotte’s Web, Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and various corpses.

I’m ready to take centre stage!

- What happens after I sign up?
JAZZ HANDS. You will receive a confirmation and a link to join our private community.
- When does registration close? When does the course start and finish?
Registration closes on Wednesday 17 May. The course begins on 22 May, and our Opening Night is on 17 July (so save this date!). The materials are yours to keep forever.
- Do I have to be a musical theatre fan to enjoy Leading Lady?
All I ask of you is an excitement for the performing arts, and really all that being a musical theatre super-fan adds is extra appreciation for my nerdy puns. All the world’s a stage, so this course applies to anyone.
- Is there an age limit for joining Leading Lady?
Nope! This course is a culmination of what I have learned from a lifetime of theatre, from my first role as dancer/townsperson at age 7. These are lessons I wish someone had taught me in high school that it’s not too late to be reminded of after college.
- Do you offer refunds?
If by the intermission you decide that this course is not the one that you want do what do wadda wa oo-oo-oo honey, you can get a full refund. Just hand in the completed workbooks up to that point to show that you’ve been giving it your best shot baby.
