^ double rainbow outside musée d’orsay

today i saw the most magnificent rainbow i have ever seen, and i couldn’t stop smiling. it was gone within five minutes. rainbows, meticulously decorated cakes, masterpiece paintings you can only see in a gallery that closes in fifteen minutes (musée d’orsay allows no photos at all. this was actually refreshing, and made me look with newly attentive eyes). these pleasures must be appreciated in the moment, and for that i love them even more. poetry, photographs, and even memory preserve, but only an image, a shadow, an abbreviation. there is nothing like a moment, live and in person. an experience, rich and ephemeral. ★
