It was ‘the hottest day of the summer’ in London. I marched out of the house in a slip (this one) and Converse boots (these ones) and for most of the day I was fine UNTIL I entered the recently renovated Old Vic for an evening show. Two words: Air. Conditioning. Hopelessly jacketless, I ended up wrapping my arms in my Daunt Books tote.
Doubling bags and jackets was not actually part of my minimalist plan.
So, the moral of the story is…
Always bring an extra layer.
Just pack one extra layer than you think you’ll need, be it a jacket or scarf (pashminas are excellent for this!). Be prepared for cold weather and modern cooling technologies.
An unrelated, yet still Fun Fact.
My outfit here is composed [almost] entirely of Frock Swap items [excluding the green shirt]! I traded a few items for a few new ones for only a fiver. You may recognise the Fluffy Thing from my Climber’s Interpretation of Black Tie and Wilderness outfit… it’s kind of a star. If you’re in the Oxford area be sure to follow Fe-Line Women for the next event!
