The best thing I can do with a weekend is go climbing outdoors. With views like this, and the thrill of climbing mountains, it requires no further explanation.
Oh yeah and friendly sheep. NOW it requires no further explanation.
Tenting it up for a weekend made me think. There were three items on my to do list: Climb. Eat. Stay as warm as possible.
As I curled up in my sleeping bag, a wave of freedom hit – I didn’t have to plan my tomorrow! No little tasks to remember, no determining times!
I was ecstatic.
And realised… perhaps I over-plan. I am a planner, writing things in the diary to make them happen. But life would be less chaotic if I spread these must-do things out over days and weeks, instead of packing in as much as possible. Better to enjoy the silences, the lapses with nothing to do, the calm assurance that I’m not forgetting anything.
