the beatles have it right: all you need is love. but the reminder is important: love what you love. do you actively, constantly do that? i realised today that i don’t: frustrated with choosing the right words for my essay, i forgot that the reason i write is because i love it. the danger of minimalism, of paring down possessions and commitments to include only what you love is that those things don’t stand out amongst the bad since you’re surrounded by the good. it is a wonderful problem to have, cured easily with a dose of gratitude. thankgsiving reminds us to be grateful. let’s have thanksgiving every day. (and pie, let’s have pie too). ★
