daily minimalist outfit photos ~ how i rock my wardrobe

daily minimalist outfit photos ~ how i rock my wardrobe^ outfits from the past few days

when i “became minimalist”, my number one concern about paring down possessions was:

what will be the fashionable consequences?

i wanted an example, but when i looked, the internet provided very little overlap between fashionistas and minimalistas. so i took the plunge alone, nudged along by my move across the ocean, and realised:

phew! it’s not so bad after all.

actually, beyond that, with each day being “minimalist”, i feel more consistently glamourous.

think about it. owning only your favourite pieces and wearing them every day? i remember when i would “save” a favourite dress (for what?!) and feel drowned in lots of shirts that look the same.

since i hope this blog will provide the guidance i sought, here are my daily outfit posts: an ongoing project just for you! you can follow on flickr and twitter for dailies, or check back here for a weekly fix (here’s me on bloglovin, if like me that’s your thing).

what else do you want to know about minimalism? i’m here to find you all the answers!

my daily plan for productivity

my daily plan for productivity

^ my library work station. keeping life pink.

new term, new timetable. the constant challenge of oxford is time management, because they give you so much free time and so much to do. i need structure to function, so here is my (so-far successful) plan of attack for hilary 2013.

7:30 am get up. morning yoga. eat breakfast. read blogs and watch vlogs.

8:30 am ease into work by organising: look up books, head to the library, that kind of thing.

9:00 am work work work. read vogue during breaks. avoid internet procrastination. phone off.

30 min before lunch collect myself. phone on. head to lunch.

lunch hour meet a friend for lunch. chat. eat good food. complete break from work.

post-lunch more work. scheduled to do list items. clean out email and phone inboxes. blog. arrange future adventures.

dinner etc eat well. do something fun and fantastic. no more work.

evening plan tomorrow.

11:00 pm turn off computer. yoga. journal. read. sleep.

do you have a daily routine? i would love to hear it.

insight from unintentional stuff-deprivation

insight from unintentional stuff^ college room furniture. bare.

here’s my living situation: college gives me four storage boxes, and i carry the rest in a north face wayfinder. when i returned to uni, i had to wait three days to retrieve my boxes, living out of my big bag only. four boxes hold a lot of stuff and yet… i could barely remember what i put in them. times like this make me realise: i don’t actually need that much stuff.

have you experienced stuff-deprivation?

living with less is living the best,

my ipod touch: favourite features

my ipod touch: favourite features^ this is toadette. i adore her tovicorrie case from bristol. it even says t for toadette.

for christmas i asked to replace my iphone with an ipod touch and a simple call-n-text phone. my wish was granted! besides her shiny pinkness, here are my favourite features of my new ipod touch:

* clock. my alarm for waking up and my timer for baking, set to a custom morning glow ringtone sister made me.

* music. stores way more than my entire itunes library, so i don’t need to write a separate playlist.

* camera. a simple space-saving solution to keeping a high-quality camera on me constantly.

* reminders. the only ones i list are my sparklify steps, set to alert me daily (to the sherwood forest ringtone. makes me feel epic.).

* notes. i keep lists of city exploration to-do’s to have them with me on the go.

simple, but plenty to keep me happy. i like small things, like toadette herself.

on living like a puppy

puppy in the holidays
^ this is logan. she doesn’t know she’s on the internet.

this season is chaotic. and cold. we run errands, send cards, choose presents, and attend parties – piling on extra activities like extra sweaters (and extra mugs of hot chocolate). yet, december does not affect puppies (or six-year-old dogs. whatever.). ours continues her routine of napping, sitting, and eating, disrupted only by the occasional call to duty when a fallen scrap of food in the kitchen requires her swift removal. we clothe her in a coat, but she has one of her own anyway that she wears every day. what a minimalist!

is holiday hectic-ness inevitable? or can we all live like puppies?
